Luke Sienkowski, a.k.a. The Great Luke Ski, was declared “The Dr. Demento Show's Most Requested Artist of the 21st Century” at Dragon Con 2004. His song parodies, originals, stand-up, and sketches about pop culture make him a favorite at numerous conventions. Matt Sloan and Aaron Yonda are best known for their video series Chad Vader, a viral internet sensation that has received over 13 million internet downloads, and has won over a dozen film festival awards. Yonda and Sloan write, direct, edit, and act in all their material, and have been co-creating films as Blame Society Productions since 2001. This will be their second year at Geek.kon.
Studio Anti Thesis is a group of pro-amateur artists and writers from the Madison area who create small presscomics. Their works appear in print and on their website www.studioantithesis.com David Salo is a linguist who worked on the languages of J. R. R. Tolkien for the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, expanding the Elvish languages (particularly Sindarin) by building on vocabulary already known from published works, and defining some languages that previously had a very small published vocabulary. He is a graduate student in linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Sarah Monette grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, one of the three secret cities of the Manhattan Project. Having completed her Ph.D. in English literature at UW-Madison, she now lives and writes in a 101-year-old house with thousands of books, four cats, one husband, and on albino bristlenose plecostomus. Her novels are published by Ace Books; _Corambis_, the fourth and final book in the Doctrine of Labyrinths series, will be out in April 2009.
